Araeh is a half-hour weekly political commentary series that explores the issues facing the state of U.S.-Arab relations in the aftermath of September 11 and the Iraq War. Guests include many well-known Arab and American political and policy figures.
Guests on Araeh will be interviewed by the anchor and answer questions from a live audience of students. Some episodes feature a call-in segment, where guests answer questions from callers throughout the Arab world and the United States.
Araeh benefits from interviewing guests with different opinions on a myriad of relevant issues.
Layalina has produced the pilot program for Araeh. The pilot features Tom Friedman of The New York Times and Hisham Milhem of the Lebanese daily As-Safir as guest commentators. Marc Ginsberg served as guest moderator for the pilot. We are currently seeking a corporate and/or foundation sponsor to underwrite the costs of production for the first season of this crucial show.
This production was made possible thanks to grants from the JM Foundation of New York and The New York Community Trust Fund - The Peter G. Peterson Fund.
